For this summer tree, Carol first used yellow for the basic tree then dropped in additional colours on the dry edge. Then, using the same colours she added foliage using a well-loaded flat brush, then added darker lower foliage using Ultramarine Blue. She explained how to use a dry brush to drag from light colour to dark to create the impression of a a more rounded tree trunk.
